About
Us
The FBI AIA is a 501(c)6 nonprofit trade association dedicated to advancing the careers of public and private sector Intelligence Analysts through mentoring, networking, and advocacy. Our members occupy positions in academia, nonprofits, and private sector companies to include Twitter, Facebook, National Governors Association, Amazon, Capital One, SpaceX, Estee Lauder, and the National Football League.
Our Story
The FBI AIA began in 2020, with a group of former FBI Intelligence Analysts seeking to connect with colleagues who have a similar professional background. We immediately saw an opportunity to use our unique skills for a greater good, and within a short period of time, recognized there was an interest across nonprofit, private sector, and academic institutions to build partnerships and take on projects. We connected with former FBI Deputy Director Tim Murphy about this idea. Tim Murphy offered his advice in establishing a formal organization and arranged for us to work with one of the top law firms in the area. In early 2021, we continued to build our internal and external network, establish a formal governance structure, and fundraise. We received our first financial donation from KACE company via former Executive Assistant Director Steve Laycock.

Although our official launch was not until September 2021, our members have been featured panelists at renowned universities, served as expert witnesses in Congressional hearings, and delivered workshops to private industry throughout 2021.

As we build and grow the organization, there will be opportunities to put forth new ideas and projects. We hope to provide value to all members, regardless of if you’ve selected to remain in the Intelligence field. We’ve only begun to capitalize on the potential of the FBI AIA.

The FBI AIA is currently open to former FBI Intelligence Analysts. Opportunities to serve as an officer, volunteer, or speaker will be listed on this website.
