New Chief Intelligence Officer

The FBI Association of Intelligence Analysts is pleased to announce our first Chief Intelligence Officer, Travis Berent! Please join us in welcoming him, and we are excited for Travis to lead our efforts to support the intelligence workforce and profession - past, present, and future.

Travis Berent is currently the director for security business strategy at Microsoft. Previously, Travis served as the National Security Council director for cybersecurity policy and cyber incident response at the White House.


Travis held a variety of intelligence roles in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), both in the New York field office and at FBI Cyber Division headquarters. Before his career in government, Travis worked at J.P. Morgan in global business resiliency.


Travis holds a master’s degree in international relations from Harvard University and a bachelor's degree in intelligence studies from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
